Farm Adventures
While most visitors believe that Sussex County’s #1 industry is sunshine and surf, it's actually agriculture that's our biggest economic driver. That's great news for visitors (and locals!) because it means Southern Delaware's Culinary Coast restaurants serve delicious dishes created with the freshest possible ingredients directly from our local farms. It also means you can enjoy adventures like visiting farms and u-picks, taking farm tours, meeting our farmers, and enjoying fantastic farmers markets which you'll find nearly every day in season.
Southern Delaware is home to many farms that welcome visitors and sell their own home grown products, including some that you can pick yourself. If you’ve never visited an alpaca farm, a winery, or a lavender farm or tried farm fresh ice cream, lavender chocolate, cherry cider or bison burgers, visit our local farmers and expand your horizons! To learn more about each of these farm destinations, just follow the links. To find them, click on the map below. Farmers Markets are not depicted on the map, but you'll find the info about them here.
Note: We suggest you call each venue for hours of operation prior to your visit.
